Few lessons are more difficult than learning to wait. We live in a world that values speed. Answers arrive instantly. Messages travel across the globe in moments. We grow accustomed to immediate results and become frustrated when life unfolds more slowly than we desire. God, however, is never hurried. The Scriptures repeatedly remind us that He works according to His perfect timing rather than our expectations. Ecclesiastes declares that every event has its appointed season. There is a time for planting and a time for harvesting, a time for rejoicing and a time for mourning. None of these seasons lasts forever, and each one has a purpose within God's greater plan. The Apostle Paul understood this truth well. He endured hardship, imprisonment, persecution, and suffering, yet he confidently declared that all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. He did not mean that every circumstance is good. Rather, God is able to accomplish His good purposes through every circumstance. The Way of Quiet Light teaches us to embrace the discipline of patient trust. A lantern does not force the dawn to arrive sooner; it simply shines faithfully through the night until morning comes. Likewise, we are not called to control God's timetable but to remain faithful within it. Waiting is not wasted time. It is often during seasons of waiting that God shapes our character most deeply. He teaches dependence instead of self-reliance, patience instead of anxiety, and faith instead of fear. The roots of trust grow strongest when they are tested by delay. If you find yourself waiting today—for healing, direction, restoration, or an answered prayer—do not lose heart. The God who began His work in you has not forgotten you. His clock has never run late, and His purposes have never failed. Continue walking faithfully. The Lord who governs the seasons also holds your future securely in His hands.
